Well... at 1:00am on Monday, February 2nd Gina started having contractions about 4 minutes apart and approximately 30-40 seconds long. We stayed at home until the OB's office was open and then we went in for an exam. Gina was 100% effaced (her cervix is paper thin) and dilated to 0.5cm. Dr. Covey said she would like to have us check into the birth center at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. Gina has been very stable and is in high spirits. We stayed the night for observation and the intensity of the contractions went down. We are hoping that the contractions back off to no more than 6 per hour (since 1:00am on Monday she has been having between 10 and 12 contractions per hour)... then we can go home and continue her bedrest there!
Baby Samuel is doing very well. The nurses even let Gina take of the fetal heart rate monitor last night so she could sleep better (you can see the device they used to monitor her contractions in the picture).
John and Janet (Gina's parents) drove down from Baker City, OR yesterday and are helping us out with taking care of our other baby... Deacon!! He really enjoys having his pal Riley to keep him company while his parents are not around.
Every day the baby stays in is better so please keep Gina and the baby in your thoughts and prayers.
Wow, this sounds really familiar. My daughter was 5 weeks early. Hang in there...literally!

Thank you for the update, we will keep you in our thoughts! Keep incubating that baby in your belly (so far this will be the 4th baby that I know of that has delivered or is on severe bed rest this month must be something in the air).
