Pirate Eye!

Hello smiley!

He loves sucking on his hands.

Outside our house on a stormy evening.

Lucas had his Dr. appointment yesterday. He weighed 13lbs 10oz and 23 inches in length. So now he is 25% on weight, 10% on height, and 25% on head circumference. Lucas was doing all the things that a regular 4 month old baby would be doing. Dr. Chunn said he was pretty much caught up and doing excellent! We also get to start working in rice cereal, white fruits, and yellow vegetables. I am so proud of my baby and all of the progress he has made in the last 4 months.

I completed my Doula workshop and am now working on being a doula at three births in order to get my certification. I was able to go to a birth on Wednesday. What an amazing experience it was. It validated all the reasons why I decided to do this. Watching a baby being brought into this world and seeing the love and joy on the parents face was so special for me. I know why my Mom loved doing this so much. I like to think that she was with me during that time.

I am also very excited because I am going to be a doula for my very good friend Meghan this month. We have been friends since we were 8 years old and I am honored to be a presence at the birth of her baby. Lots of exciting stuff coming!!

Kevin applied to take the Professional Land Surveying exam in Oregon this fall. He has worked very hard for this and we are saying prayers and crossing our fingers and toes that the board will accept his application. In order to take the test, he has to have an accredited degree, 4 years of professional experience, and five letters of recommendation from at least three professional Land Surveyors. We are pretty excited about the opportunities this will bring us.
