Well, Lucas turned 9 months old last Friday. Time flies when you are having fun, right? I couldn't have asked for a better baby too. I think that God only gives you what you can handle and after his early arrival and the loss of my Mother, I think we deserve to have such a good little guy.
On Tuesday we went to his 9 month check up. Dr. Chunn was very pleased with how well he is doing. To my surprise, he is still on the preemie charts. The last few appointments I thought he was on the "normal" charts. Nope. Lucas is 17lbs and 3oz and 27 inches long. He is around the 30% on the preemie charts and 3% on the "normal" charts. Still a little guy, but they say he has the first two years of his life to catch up. It was a really good appointment because it reminded me that Lucas will reach each new milestone on his own time. He is healthy, happy, and developing very well.
For the last week or so Lucas has been saying "da da" and just this morning he started saying "ma ma." I have been coaching him on "ma ma" since he was born. It was so fun for me to hear him say it finally! He also has been very interested in pulling himself up. He won't do it unless he has my hands to hold on to, but I don't help him at all. I am trying to let him figure out that he can hold on to anything and pull himself up (he doesn't need my hands there to do it). I just can't believe how much he has grown just in the last couple weeks. I am such a proud Mommy!
Here are some photos of the last 9 months.
Can't believe how big he is, sooo cute! Love his eyes:)
