For those who are wondering Lucas is doing great. We are just focusing on getting him plenty of skin-to-skin time with mom and letting him try to feed if he is feeling up to it.

He only had to wear the little breather tube for the first few hours. He was breathing "room air" right away with aid of the CPAP; it basically just blows the air into his nostrils. After three hours, they took it off him and he has been fine breathing on his own since.

He is perfectly healthy in every way and is exactly as he should be at 34 weeks. He is just a little guy. We won't be able to take him home until he is able to maintain his own body temperature, can feed orally and his vitals all look good. We are expecting him to be in the NICU for 2-3 weeks.
