Gina was discharged from the hospital today. We went straight home and packed up so we could stay in Bend with Gina's grandpa George. The same great guy that let us stay with him when we were building our house. I will be going back to work on Wednesday.
We can't express how much gratitude we have for the nurses in the NICU that are helping us "bake" our little guy a little longer. He gets 24/7 care and we are so very thankful. My sister said I could think of it as the most expensive babysitters I will ever get, but I think they (and he) are priceless. He is already so amazing. I can't wait until we are able to start seeing more of his personality. He smiles every once and a while when he is on Gina's chest and he looks up at her. It is enough to melt the most cynical of hearts. I am trying to capture a short video of him doing that, but he is only awake for very short time periods.
Lucas napping while he gets some phototherapy. The little mask protects his eyes. Looks like he is relaxing at the beach in this one!
Lucas' private room at the NICU. It will stay this way unless they get busy and then we might need to share with someone.
An explanation of the monitor the NICU nurses use to keep an eye on Lucas.

The little buckaroo looks pretty comfortable in the tanning booth. Grandpa Brand is mumbling something about Gina showing too much skin in some of the pictures.
Bow wow...
Samuel Family,
Thank you for all the updates, and congratulations! He sure looks like he is laying on the beach, very cute!
Love,
Kevin, Leanne and James
