Today was my first day back to work. I wish that we could have saved enough money for both Gina and I to be home for the first few months with Lucas. I miss Gina and Lucas so much! I figure things will get a little easier once we get home and we get to spend more time with him.

He was doing pretty well today. I went in and had lunch with Gina at the NICU and she told me that Lucas was doing a little better when he was breast feeding. The NICU nurses are now weighing him after he breastfeeds from Gina. I guess he drank about 5cc of milk by himself.

We just continue to pray that he builds his stamina for breast feeding. The poor little guy gets tuckered out pretty easy. His little face seems to be changing everyday; when he got his 6:00pm feeding today I got to hold him. He was laying there just smiling for a minute or two. It was the coolest thing.

I also want to give a praise report here. We went through a pretty tough time with Gina in the hospital and Lucas being in the NICU. We just want to praise God for answering the prayers that he heard from us and others. We are so thankful for the health of mother and child. We have seen things in our lives the past few years that just confirm, for us, that we are not just wandering through life. God has truly blessed our family; thank you all for praying for us.

This is a scripture that my boss shared with me. He came across this in a bible study group he is in the night before Lucas was born. He told us that these verses immediately brought us to mind. When you think you are climbing an endless mountian put some faith in something stronger than yourself; and don't be shy about asking for prayers.

Isaiah 43:1-3

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."
